Eurotrip Day 14 – London, England: Borough Market, Shoreditch, Dishoom and More

Posted on March 31, 2016 by Lindsay

After an amazing first few days in London, I almost couldn’t believe what was still ahead of me. The Large Association of Movie Blogs was having a meet up for the rest of the weekend.

The day started off with the unreal meeting of a long time friend and just a few donuts.

A group of us headed over to Borough Market – a giant food market featuring meat, baked and other artisanal goods. Prepare for photo overload.

I’m pretty sure my favorite thing about Europe are the markets. Yes, we have farmer’s markets here in the States but not many are on the level of those I ventured out to during our Europe trip. It’s hard to ask for more from these places. They’re a one stop shop for both groceries and prepared food. Borough Market is no exception.

Take a look around at what you’ll find once you make it in the market.

You might not be surprised to learn that we started to get pretty hungry looking at all that food. Time to head outside and grab some grub.

It turned out to be a difficult decision to narrow down.

So we ended up just grabbing a few different things to try out.

One new discovery made at the market was that of Pimm’s – a popular drink in the UK that is often prepared like Sangria. It was a hard thing to resist.

After we stuffed ourselves, we relocated to a different area of London where we would be meeting up with some other bloggers later in the evening. We arrived in Shoreditch which seemed to be the Brooklyn of London.

Jason popped in for a quick shot of espresso at 21 Club Row

We walked around for a bit and snapped some photos of the fun graffiti sprinkled throughout the area.

A collection of mostly awful stickers spotted in a bathroom mirror – Can you find Jason?

We stopped in for a coffee at Paper & Cup – more on this spot in an upcoming Coffee Break post.

Then we headed around the corner for one of the first meet ups of the weekend at the fantastic Indian restaurant Dishoom.

I was so caught up in the excitement that I forgot to snap a picture of my delicious food but I did manage to get a group shot at dinner.

After dinner we went out for drinks at increasingly mismatched bars, starting at a rugby sports watering hole-

And ending at a circus themed bar with early 00s R&B and very sugary drinks.

The remaining few of us decided to keep the night going a little longer and stopped into a diner to grab some snacks.

Sweet potato poutine will do.

And I guess I’ll end the day where I started. Life comes full circle and so do donuts.
