Another week has already passed and here we are! I stuck to my promise from last week and snapped photos everyday for my Photo Recap. I tried to test out camera functions that I don’t use as often to varying degrees of success. Most of those experiments didn’t make it to this ‘best of’ compilation but it felt good working through new territory.

I realized more than ever that my dog is such a huge part of my life – certainly the most photogenic part of it. I’ve been a bit behind blogging on my other site so this week I made it a goal to put both blogs at the forefront and organize future schedules. Here’s how the week went.

The weather was gorgeous at the beginning of the week. It was an uplifting start for the work ahead of me. Ellie was dying to dive in after the ducks floating around the river.

After work I made a stop off to grab some of my favorite ice cream by the Baltimore-based Taharka Brothers. I picked up my new obsession Jazzman Blues but if you are looking for a Taharka gateway drug be sure to try out their Honey Graham flavor. I’m only being slightly hyperbolic when I say that it changed my life.

The amazing weather continued into Tuesday (I think it reached above 80 degrees!) When it’s bright and sunny outside you feel like you can accomplish anything and everything.

Jason and I took Ellie over his Mom’s house after work to play and she was a happy camper.

The weather took a dramatic turn on Wednesday and never picked back up.

Thankfully, Ellie ran her ass off the day before so she didn’t mind the day’s more leisurely activities. We’ve been working on a lot of Ellie’s manners with commands and she gets better everyday. She still really struggles to contain herself around other people but she did great on her walk this day.

I tried out some different camera settings for Thursday’s photos, mainly because there wasn’t anything terribly interesting happening.

I spent the bulk of my evening organizing my schedules and prepping content. Ellie was bummed about the rain.

The weekend was finally here. Jason and I met up with Jess and Rob for our usual Friday night routine. Rob had a hankering for buffalo wings so we eventually wound up at Kisling’s Tavern. I thought the food was tasty but I’m not sure they were Must-Have, #1, Best of Baltimore wings. What do I know.

We satisfied our sweet tooth afterwards at Dangerously Delicious Pies.

The ‘Baltimore Bomb’ pie is a mix of Berger Cookies and vanilla chess filling. It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

Saturday mornings are the best. I sleep in late, Ellie wakes me up for a bathroom break and then the two of us cuddle for an hour or so while I watch a movie or read. Then its time for breakfast so Jason gets up and everyone eats and we drink coffee while catching up on TV shows. I picked up a few books recently as I’ve desperately been trying to get back into reading regularly.

I just started The Mammoth Book of Locked Room Mysteries & Impossible Crimes and it’s perfect for me. Each story is stupid-short so I can read one before falling asleep at night. Or before Ellie has decided she had enough.

Sunday was my best friend Jess’ birthday! For the big day two years ago, we went to the lovely AFI theater to see Blue Ruin with a special Q&A featuring the director Jeremy Saulnier and star Macon Blair. We’ve been eagerly anticipating the duo’s follow up ever since so it seemed that the stars aligned when their new film Green Room was set for release this weekend. Spoiler Alert – it’s awesome.

After the movie we all had dinner & drinks at Parts & Labor. The food was delicious but nothing compared to the great company. Happy Birthday, Jess!

I had fun documenting the week and I think I did a great job keeping my camera with me at all times. I might switch it up soon and choose something different to shoot with. My goal for next week: More variety!
