Another Summer weekend is in the bag. This past week I was able to mark some big things off my to-do list and spent the last few days enjoying some of the finer things in life. Here we go!
Even with all of the positivity happening, this week seemed to drag. Compared to the rest of the Summer, the days just seemed sluggish and un-inspired. I blame the humidity.
MONDAY
I helped my Dad take some photos for his website. He deals antiques and his most recent haul included a slew of lovely nautical industrial pieces.
TUESDAY
Another hot day, I grabbed an iced coffee to cool off. I worked heavily on finishing up a few big personal projects over the course of the week so there wasn’t much to report with my camera. The lack of important photos will continue.
WEDNESDAY
Including this picture! Nothing happened on Wednesday besides my usual dog adventures and this snapshot I got of a dragonfly. Oh but I did finally finish 2 major projects! Yay!
THURSDAY
I finally hung out with my niece and nephew for the first time in forever. We went to see The Secret Life of Pets (which was actually quite adorable) and beforehand I picked up this delicious turkey avocado wrap from Richardson’s Farms.
FRIDAY
After work, Jason went mountain-biking while I took Ellie for a trail run. The weather was brutal and Jason thought that this shot of Ellie & I post-run was hilarious.
He made me promise him not to delete it. I prefer this adorable Ellie snapshot.
Thankfully, we weren’t far away from Jason’s mom’s house so we headed over for a swim.
I tried to get some photos of Ellie jumping in the pool like a maniac but I had a little trouble. Here’s a little Gif of her swimming:
SATURDAY
Saturday was one of my favorite days of the year – Artscape! Artscape is America’s largest free arts festival that features artists, crafts, visual art exhibits and a ton of other eye candy. Oh and it also brings together some of Baltimore’s best restaurants and food trucks. Let’s get to that part of the event.
This year’s theme was Space Exploration.
Jason’s lunch came courtesy of Chef Mac’s Louisiana Cuisine – a dynamite Oyster po boy.
I opted for the amazing Adobo Joe from Crossroads Bistro – a traditional sweet and sour Filipino adobo pulled pork sandwich with a fried egg and yum yum sauce.
After lunch we saw the Zeke’s Coffee booth and we knew what to do.
And right next to Zeke’s, truly was the perfect pairing; Hi there, Miss Jody’s Mini Donuts .
SO FREAKING GOOD.
Once we had walked the festival we noticed the big bad storm clouds were starting to roll in. We headed back home before the evenings festivities.
After the crazy storm, we headed over to our friend Marc’s house to hang out with the whole gang. We played a card game called “Billionaire Banshee” that gives you a hypothetical date with one great “perk” and one awful “quirk” then you decide whether or not you would date that person. It was a really fun game that I’m pretty sure was tailor made for our group.
Marc went all out in the kitchen (as he is known to do) and made beef brisket, ribs, cornbread and the best Mac ‘n Cheese of all time.
We finished the evening with a hate-watch of Dancin’ It’s On! because that’s what movie bloggers do when they get together.
SUNDAY
Finally the end of the week had arrived. I worked through the weekend food binge by spending the entire day doing mass amounts of laundry and house cleaning. You gotta do what you gotta do. In the evening, I continued to read through a new workbook Jess gave me that is helping us out with our New Years resolutions ๐
That’s all for now. Next week I want to finish organizing upcoming trips, plan out some post tutorials and finally get out a film camera!
What was the highlight of your week?
