Weekly Photo Recap: Baltimore Pride

Posted on July 25, 2016 by Lindsay

It’s recap time! Last week was a whirlwind and I am feeling proud of everything I was able to accomplish. I spent a lot of time outside, went to a couple festivals, and worked on my photography.

Let’s get to the recap:

MONDAY

I didn’t take a lot of photos on Monday because I was working on blog stuff. For dinner, we ate the best in town burgers at my favorite place.

TUESDAY

Jason has been mountain biking practically every day so on Tuesday we went out to Gunpowder Falls State Park to explore.

WEEK-18JUL2016-03

I tried out some different techniques for these landscape shots and overall I’m pleased with the results.

WEEK-18JUL2016-05

Ellie was very happy that she could also cool off in the water.

WEEK-18JUL2016-07

Jason gave Ellie her first lesson in mountain biking…

WEEK-18JUL2016-08

And she loved it! He said she was great with all of her commands and is looking forward to taking her out on the trail again!

WEEK-18JUL2016-09

We drove back home at sunset and the views were incredible. When I asked if we could pull over for a photo Jason was happy to oblige.

WEEK-18JUL2016-10

WEDNESDAY

More biking on Wednesday. Jason took to the dirt trails while Ellie and I stuck to the road. Her stamina amazes me every day.

WEEK-18JUL2016-11

Here’s a little close up of some of my bike stickers. Jason makes fun of me because I put most of them on very sloppily. I sort of just shrug and say “oh well” even though I know he’s right. If you’re looking to pick up some stickers, my favorite place to order from is RedBubble– they have so many great ones! Side note: I need some new bike tires STAT!

WEEK-18JUL2016-12

THURSDAY

No biking today, this day called for swimming. I spent a little time after work over my parents letting Ellie swim with her BFF Cosmo before heading back home to record a podcast.

They really are best friends. It’s so cute. They are so cute.

FRIDAY

It was another action packed day. After a busy day at work and a lot of time in the heat, I was really ready to unwind. Jason and I didn’t get to dinner until LATE and wound up at Main Street Oyster House.

WEEK-18JUL2016-15

They didn’t have any oysters in (UGH) but we did enjoy some summer cocktails. Jason insisted on being the hand model for the photos.

SATURDAY

This weekend was another one of our favorite Baltimore festivals – Baltimore Pride!

WEEK-18JUL2016-17

We met up with friends to see the Pride Parade & Block Party. We had a great time minus the 109 degree heat index. :-O

WEEK-18JUL2016-20

We ate too much and felt super sluggish after the festival was over. We recouped at the house for a bit and later caught a showing of Lights Out. I thought it was a short & sweet summer chiller (you can read a full review from my friend Nate over on my other blog.)

SUNDAY

We had a good deal of stuff to get done on Sunday so we started going as soon as we woke up. I hit up the grocery store first thing and then Jason and I split so that he could bike and I could take the dog for a swim.

Later we met up with a few friends at the MD German Festival. The festival’s setup is small but they had beer, brats and a big selection of sweet treats. SO, why wouldn’t you go?

WEEK-18JUL2016-23

Mmmm strudel.

WEEK-18JUL2016-24

It was another scorcher on Sunday so by the time we made it back home we were wiped out. Thankfully, we were able to finish up meal prep for the week before cuddling up to watch TV and subsequently PASSING OUT.

In review, I tried out a lot of different things with my camera this week and even though I think there is a lot of room for improvement, I’m really happy with this week’s set of photos. They feel fun and energetic which is a perfect expression of my week.

Next week I’m looking forward to getting ahead on stalled projects, hopefully updating my Flickr account and ending the week with a camping trip!

What was the highlight of your week?

What a week! From where I’m living now (Middle East) there is hardly any activities for us to do specially now with the summer. Walking from the building to the car will make you sweat like you’ve gone for a 10-mile trek.

My sister also went to the MD German Festival, she had the same sausage photo! :p

Ah! That’s awesome. I guess the sausage was the main attraction 🙂

Hold on…you went to somewhere called the Main Street Oyster House and they didn’t have any oysters??! A very action packed week and beautiful pics! Baltimore Pride looks so much fun! Thanks for linking on #citytripping

Okay, RIGHT! I mean it’s in the name! They only had a few fried oyster options available. I guess they aren’t in season so they didn’t have them in but come’on!
