His & Hers: Goals for January 2017

We already recapped 2016 in photos and showed off our end of year celebrations but now it’s time to look at our goals for this first month of the new year.


LINDSAY’S GOALS

LAST MONTH:


FINISH CLEANING OUT THE HOUSE:

While everything is now in its place, I still have to find some time to get to the dump. I’m gonna call this one a “win” and assume that I’ll take care of the trash when the opportunity presents itself.

EVALUATE POSTING SCHEDULES + GOALS:

I decided on a new posting schedule, organized my social media schedulers and picked out new monthly objectives so yay for actually doing something.

CHILL:

I suppose I’m right in the middle here. There was still some Holiday-induced anxiety but I did make a hefty amount of decisions to relax in December. I spent a solid amount of time snuggled up with Jason and the dog and for that I have absolutely zero complaints.



JANUARY 2017:


TAKE MORE PICTURES

I LOVED going through all of last year’s weekly photo recaps and it made me realize how much I missed them (I started doing photography challenges in place of the recaps.) I’m picking both back up this month with the intention of continuing all year long. It is very exciting to keep learning and documenting.

START A NEW FEATURE

This is actually for my other blog! Inspired by my weekly photo updates, I’m going to start a similar recap feature for the movies and TV I watch each week.

MEAL PLAN MY BUTT OFF, LITERALLY

There are some things that I’ve just grown to accept as ugly, universal truths in my life. Laundry detergent will always cost more than I think it should, I will think of that super witty comeback right after you’ve left and I will undoubtedly gain weight in the winter. Of course, this is a common occurrence what with all of the holiday food and lack of activity. Time to get back to meal planning and cutting back at the restaurants for a bit. I’m excited to try out all of the cool kitchen gadgets we got for Christmas.

JASON’S GOALS



LAST MONTH:


FIX MY SHOULDER

This has definitely gotten better! I am still doing some PT to get things working back to 100% but overall my shoulder hase improved dramatically. I am pretty much at 100% range of motion and about 75% strength, something I was thinking would easily take 2-3 months.

TRY OUT NEW EXERCISES

Well, this one was stopped but not by me! I swear! Unfortunately, my doctor told me swimming wasn’t actually a great idea for my shoulder.

COPENHAGEN

So after looking things over it is definitely a go! Things are lining up much better and after going through Japan with a funky shoulder and not having any issues I think traveling abroad will be no big deal. Next up- actually booking a place!

JANUARY 2017:


CONTINUE GETTING THIS SHOULDER TO 100%

This may be boring and will probably be a goal for some time to come, but I am hoping to just keep increasing things up gradually. I plan to get back into climbing this week so hopefully that goes well!!

GET BACK ON THE BIKE

Due to my previous goal I have not really been on my bike at all in 6 weeks, which is driving me nuts! I want to get back out there and at least ride some easy trails this month!

COPENHAGEN

Now its time to get serious, booking places is a go! I am hoping this one turns out well for next month!

LAST MONTH:


ENJOY OUR VACATION

Japan was incredible! Great food + wonderful culture = happy travelers. We can’t wait to sort through all of the photos and start sharing recaps.

SPEND TIME WITH FRIENDS & FAMILY

It was really nice to spend the holidays with all of our favorite people and de-stress for a while. Super solid win.

GET READY FOR 2017!

The new year barreled into us both but in a good way. We are both feeling confident about future travels and looking forward to what 2017 has in store.



JANUARY 2017:


FINISH BOOKING ANNIVERSARY TRIP

We are gearing up for Iceland this February and are super excited! We have to finish booking a few random things before the month is out.

WORK ON ELLIE’S MANNERS

Ellie has a few bad habits that we are going to focus on improving before hooking her up with a trainer. The big two are BARKING and JUMPING.

YOGA + CARDIO for 30 MINUTES A DAY

Yoga will be great for both Jason’s shoulder and my back. We also recently bought Dance Dance Revolution (blast from the past, I know) so we want to try and play it for a little while each night.
