Jason works in the Baltimore neighborhood of Canton – an area that borders the water and hosts a number of great restaurants and bars. Atwater’s is one of his favorite go-to lunch spots, so when they invited us to check out their dinner menu we were more than excited to stop by.

Atwater’s is a Baltimore staple with a number of different restaurants and markets throughout the area. Their food is made from fresh, local ingredients and their menu often takes inspiration directly from the farm.

Before we get to the food, here’s a quick peek inside the shop.

Did I mention they also serve excellent coffee, desserts and other handmade goodies?

We tried out a number of tasty menu items and couldn’t have been more impressed. First up: cocktails. I’ve been obsessed with gin recently so I went with a classic Bee’s Knees while Jason opted for something more adventurous.

Jason went with the shrimp and grits for dinner (which I of course tasted) and it was perfect. Just the right balance and flavor.

I was particularly happy with my selection of Peruvian chicken with plantains. I mean, you can just look at this dish and you already know it’s delicious.

I definitely wanted to check out dessert so Jason chose to get a strawberry lemonade drink.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered the lavender cheesecake but was I pleasantly surprised how smooth and well-balanced it was.

Oh and some coffee of course. 😉

The sweet treats ended up being the perfect cap to the delicious meal. I can’t wait to check out more of Atwater’s dinner menu and I highly suggest checking them out next time you’re in the area.
