Today I’m talking about a fun coffee service that I recently had the pleasure of trying out. Keep reading so you can find out more about what Angels’ Cup is and why I think it’s a must try for coffee lovers.
What is Angels’ Cup?
So first thing first, what exactly is this? Well it’s a subscription service that let’s you sample up to 208 different coffees per year and helps educate you on the flavor profiles of each roast. It is essentially a “coffee tasting club” where each roast is set up to be sampled blindly. Afterwards, you can take notes through their app or check the provided cards to learn more about the coffee you just sampled. Here’s a look at what the Black Box subscription pack looks like:
How does it work?
As stated above, Angels’ Cup is designed so that you can blindly sample each roast provided. You can select your choice of beans or ground coffee and the package will tell you exactly how you can prepare your roast sample. After you’re done sampling, you can record notes about the taste via the Angels’ Cup app or just compare your thoughts with the roast info cards included with your box. Personal Side Note: I recommend trying out the app because it’s a great way to keep track of what you liked about each roast and a good overall snapshot of your tastes.
Why should I try it?
It’s a great way to try out new brews
I have always really enjoyed trying out new roasts but it can be quite a commitment buying a full bag of beans you’ve never tasted before. With the cupping samples provided in the subscription you get the benefit of trying out multiple types of coffee and comparing before making any decisions. When faced with the various choices, you start to understand your own preferences a little more which in turn helps you make a better choice when finding the right roast.
It helps you hone your taste buds
One thing I quickly noticed when I started trying out the different roasts was how distinct each taste was and how little I had been articulating that before being put in a situation where I had to actively think about it. The app and info cards give you a crash course on each roast and I honestly feel like I already learned a lot about flavor profiles and country of origin just from this first round of coffees.
The blind tasting option is clearly optional as you could just cheat & find out the roasts beforehand if you’re a human devoid of wonder. But it made everything about my morning coffee much more exciting. The anticipation of trying out something new coupled with learning more about what I was drinking was pretty damn cool. I want to make it a Saturday morning ritual to try one new roast – perfect with the 4 pack samples!

I don’t think I’m overstating it when I say that a good cup of coffee can completely change my outlook on the day. I thrive when I’m drinking good coffee and therefore I’m always looking for something new. That’s kind of the beauty of the Angels’ Cup subscription.
If you’re interested in checking out the service, there is no commitment and you can cancel any time. There are two subscription options to choose from, The Cupping Flight which includes four 1oz samples for $9.99, and The Black Box which includes four 2.75oz samples for $21.99.
If you’re a coffee fan like me then you won’t be disappointed!
