Posted on June 27, 2017 by Jason

Hamilton Pool Preserve is an awesome and beautiful sight that is only a short car ride out from Austin. If you are visiting the area, it is definitely worth a trip!

Hamilton Pool is a naturally formed pool created by thousands of years of erosion. The beautiful water is perfect for swimming but is occasionally restricted to the public to maintain appropriate chemical levels. To learn more about the conditions of the pool and surrounding park, please visit the Travis County Parks website.

Now on to the pictures!

The pool is a short and easy hike from the entrance of the preserve.

There are tons of awesome features along the way, including some easily traverse-able root stairs and a nice stream that follows the path to the pool.

The water is so clear in the stream areas that you can easily see all the way down to the bottom.

After your short hike you arrive at the pool. It really is breathtaking.

Unfortunately, the pool was on a high bacteria watch while we were there so swimming was not possible.

Walking completely around the pool reveals some awesome views and cool geological sights.

Throughout you can spot these cool small waterfalls the feed the pool. It would be great to see these right after a rain.
