Summer in Baltimore: Artscape 2017 & The Baltimore Farmers’ Market

Posted on July 26, 2017 by Lindsay

As promised, here’s photo post showing off some of the fun I had at two fabulous Baltimore summer events: The Baltimore Farmer’s Market and Artscape.

Summertime in Baltimore City is always hot and humid but never short on exciting events. Here’s a brief look at some of the great city happenings I attended so far this summer:

Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar

E Saratoga St & Holliday St, Baltimore, MD 21202.
Open 7:00am to 12:00pm Every Sunday until December 17th.

The market is Maryland’s largest producers-only market where you can pick up any tasty food imaginable from every section of the food pyramid. There are also a slew of delicious food vendors and artisan craftsman there to satisfy all your market needs.

Grab some coffee from Dooby’s, Café Latte’ da, Zeke’s Coffee & Pie Time or donuts at Sundays Bakehouse & Migue’s Magnificent Mini Donuts.

And of course, the rest of the market is filled with an overwhelming number of excellent finds.

Artscape 2017

Baltimore, MD
Friday, July 21 – Sunday, July 23, 2017

The largest free arts festival in the country, Artscape has become a yearly tradition for me to attend. It lasts 3 days and features countless artists, designers and craftspeople. You can also check out special exhibits, concerts, and movie screenings. This year’s theme was “Camp Artscape: Adventure Awaits” so it was awesome checking out the different ways artists incorporated this theme. Here are a few random highlights:

Falafel + Peach lemonade from B-More Alive

Deedle’s Mini Donuts

Nitro Float from Ceremony Coffee Roasters

Locally sourced, organically grown food truck Wild Thyme

My favorite stand was the Barter Boat Trading Post which let you trade whatever you wanted for a unique souvenir.

What is your favorite thing about the summer in your city?

You got the decadence of the Vanilla Blackberry and simplicity of those addictive mini donuts…what else do you need really?
