Weekly Photo Recap: Birthday!

Keeping up with tradition, here is another weekly recap!

THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 5th, 2018

MONDAY

It was a rough start of the week as Jason I had to deal with some unexpected house issues. Luckily, I had picked up a new batch of coffee for the week to help get us going. Oh how I missed my Zeke’s dark roast.

TUESDAY

By Tuesday, we were back to our normal routine and playing a bit of catch up. I noticed that the little plant I bought for the guest room had started to sprout flowers!

WEDNESDAY

Something exciting happened midweek – I TURNED 30! I’m a sucker for birthdays and I was feeling pretty jazzed to be celebrating such a big milestone. I had a get together planned for the weekend, so Jason and I observed the joyous occasion with dinner at Corner Stable. Gotta get them ribs, yum!

THURSDAY

The whole week was mainly spent dealing with all of the crappy weather and trying to get our house organized. We went out Thursday for a quick dinner at the always lovely Yama Sushi Bar.

FRIDAY

A wild and crazy Friday started off with Sour Cream Donut Holes at work…

And ended with assembling IKEA furniture and more renovation stuff!

FUN STUFF! But seriously, just got to keep checking things off the list.

SATURDAY

Okay, so it was FINALLY time to truly celebrate my birthday by taking time out to indulge in some of my favorite things.

First on the list was a trip to my favorite donut shop – Fractured Prune!

I feel like I eat here at least once a year but I’m not sure why it isn’t once a week.

Afterwards, I got my second cup of coffee at the brand new Zeke’s Coffee location!

The new place looks great and I can’t wait to spend more time there this year.

After that, we headed back home to paint because we can’t waste a day not working on the house (lol) but LATER IN THE DAY was my 30th Birthday get together!

Everyone came out to one of my favorite restaurants – Annabel Lee Tavern for dinner and a MURDER MYSTERY PARTY aka a dream come true.

Special thanks to @jzing + @jessmanzo for the following cute photos:

The night was so much fun and I was so grateful that everything went off without a hitch. Many thanks to my friends for being the absolute best people and also to Annabel Lee Tavern for accommodating our group and making us feel so welcome.

SUNDAY

Back to the rainy weather and getting the house in order. I had a wonderful leisurely day that started with a healthy breakfast, good coffee and buckets of paint.

I was able to get done priming all of the bookcases! Now we just need a few more coats, getting the tops in order and finishing up the trim work!

What was the highlight of your week?

You two are kicking ass with all this painting! It’s really inspiring me to tackle painting in our house… and then I remember how un-fun painting can be too. One of these days we’ll get our act together.

Your birthday week looks pretty lovely though- coffee, donuts, bbq, sushi, murder mystery!

So I am kind-of sort-of turning over a new leaf on painting – I still think it’s tedious and time consuming but it is definitely a more relaxing and less arduous reno task. Nice to be able to do it at night and listen to a podcast. But it still feels like it takes FOREVER sometimes. We did buy a big ass roller for this room though and I already feel like it was worth it. Also, we used a better primer in this room and only had to do one coat of paint which was GREAT.

Birthday week was awesome! All my favorite things with all my favorite people 😀
