Say hi to Doughnut Lounge in Kansas City, MO!

If your donut love runs as deep as mine does, then you might want to carve out a permanent spot on your bucket list for this Kansas City eatery. Doughnut Lounge serves a huge selection of your favorite sweet treats and not just with flavors but also type. You can get a classic yeast donut or something with a cake texture. If you are feeling up to it, you can go for something outside the box like a “nodut” or a breakfast bowl. Oh and did I mention they also have a full service bar with signature cocktails? Yeah, they kind of have it all.

We arrived at DL on our last day in town so we opted strictly for the good stuff. The overwhelming options took me by surprise and I did that thing where I awkwardly tell the cashier that I’ll “Definitely need a few minutes” in my unfashionable fan girl voice.

AND NOW TIME FOR THE UNBOXING!

We went with the following:

Caramel Pretzel Cheesecake –

Iced Chocolate –

Avocado Ganache –

“Shutter Butter” (chocolate cake donut topped with peanut butter icing, crushed peanuts & ganache) –

Apple Brandy & Basil –

& of course, you always pick up a classic Glazed –

A great batch of donuts if I do say so myself. Jason & I really enjoyed the creamy, smooth texture of the Avocado Ganache and the classic flavors in the Shutter Butter donut.

If only we had room for 6 more flavors!

Doughnut Lounge was so good when we visited KC! I think I had a sugar high for the rest of the day. This would definitely be a popular spot for a late night dessert, coffee and/or drink if we had one in Baltimore. We could use another spot or two like that.
