Heading out of New Orleans but not before grabbing donuts. Here’s what happened last week –
THE WEEK OF APRIL 23rd, 2018
MONDAY
Our last full day in NOLA kicked off at my must-visit donut shop for the trip – District Donuts.
We brought our donuts into the sun and sampled one of each, naturally.
Everything was DE-LISH but I think the cinnamon roll may have been my favorite (don’t tell the donuts I said that!)
With my sugary goals accomplished, we decided to check out more stores along Magazine street.
One of my favs was the fancy vintage shop Century Girl Vintage
Should I start wearing luxurious nighties and house robes? I think so.
Super delightful walking around coffee thanks to Cherry Coffee Roasters
We headed over to the Warehouse District to check out the area and I popped in to The Stacks bookstore for a few little goodies.
Then we decided to explore the Bywater District so naturally I took a bunch of house photos.
Total bummer that this place was closed (despite all the “Open” signage) it looked great!
At some point, we had a quick stop off into Satsuma Cafe where I munched on a very tasty sandwich.
Okay now more amazing houses!!
New Orleans is so damn charming.
For dinner, we made plans to get ourselves into a crawfish boil. We were lucky enough to find ourselves at Three Legged Dog and it was perfect.
If you’re ever in town – I suggest checking out the times in advance and getting your butt to the bar!
Night fell and we walked the lively streets once again.
Well actually, just one more donut real quick 🙂 Thanks, Sweet Things & Grill.
Then it was back outside to search for live music.
Final stop of my night at Cafe Negril – Jason toasted with another Abita.
And one last shot of this adorable group!
TUESDAY
Good morning, Tuesday. Goodbye cute Airbnb.
We headed out and onto our last stop before the airport.
We said goodbye to the city with a damn good breakfast from The Ruby Slipper Cafe.
Can’t wait to visit NOLA again someday!
WEDNESDAY
Back from vacation face:
Need I say more?
THURSDAY
I didn’t have any lunches planned for the week which means I ate out for lunch too much. Delicious though.
FRIDAY
Jason and I ran house-related errands and stopped at Pappas Restaurant for dinner.
SATURDAY
Once again excited to work on the house, we finished drywalling the office-side of the new wall we built.
Then finished framing out the bookcase.
Ta-da! It is looking like a wall now!!
SUNDAY
Started off the morning with a quick stop at the Baltimore Vintage Flea market and snagged this cute piece of home decor.
Also brought homes some tasty treats from the Blacksmith pop-up at RHouse. I couldn’t believe their special that morning was beignets (!!) and their sticky bun was killer.
Then it was back to working on the new wall. We finished off the bookcase cabinet.
Also had to put together some IKEA goodies.
Ellie supervised our construction efforts.
We made progress drywalling the bathroom side of the new wall.
Then started filling in the more complicated spaces.
Annnnd we started fleshing out the bathroom medicine cabinet!!
Finally, we ended the night with a late dinner at Nam Kang.
What a week!
What was the highlight of your week?
