Weekly Photo Recap: Slow

Posted on June 21, 2018 by Lindsay

ANNNND we’re back! Here’s what happened during the second week in June.

THE WEEK OF JUNE 11th, 2018

MONDAY

Remember a few weeks ago when the weekly recap showed off our time in the mountains? Or that recap of New Orleans? Those were fun recaps! This week wasn’t nearly as exciting so maybe consider checking those old recaps out? Okay, but you can’t say I didn’t warn you.

Monday in a nutshell –

We are officially on the HelloFresh train and love it despite what the terrible quality of this camera phone photo would indicate.

TUESDAY

One of the last things left to do in the shower area was to clean the tub. After much debate, we chose to keep our old porcelain cast iron tub, largely thanks to my insistence and the contingency that I actually was able to clean it. The tub was in amazing shape but had certainly endured some heavy staining over the years so there was concern that it may need to be re-glazed if it didn’t clean up nicely. Well, I’m happy to report that my internet research paid off and I was able to get the tub sparkling!

Here are are few before and after shots of the cleaning –

Basically, the process consisted of using baking soda with lemon, the miracle cleaner that is Bar Keepers Friend and a lot of elbow grease. Thankfully, the method was effective enough to remove the rust spots without being too abrasive. I still need to do another pass on some of the more stubborn areas but I was so happy with how the whole tub looked after the first once-over.

WEDNESDAY

I picked up a few new shirts and dresses for the summer – my fashion mood seems to be bold prints and colors.

How great is that donut button-up?

THURSDAY

It was a lovely day outside so Ellie and I spent the lunch hour playing in the grass.

After work, Jason and I opted for a quick dinner of Thai food takeout before I ran off to podcast. I had to get a Thai iced coffee, of course.

FRIDAY

I came to the realization that I need to stop buying plants until I have somewhere to put them. Some might say that I should have came to this realization weeks ago…

SATURDAY

Jason and I did house work all day – I mainly cleaned and Jason took on the arduous task of working on our back patio. We ended the night at Lowes, such a nice change of scenery from the usual night ending at Home Depot ๐Ÿ˜

SUNDAY

Happy Father’s Day! I spent the whole day hanging out with my Dad and my brother and the dogs – taking nice walks, eating fried food and making some time specifically for donuts ๐Ÿ˜‰

What was the highlight of your week?
