Weekly Photo Recap: Mornings

Posted on April 18, 2019 by Lindsay

One vacation later and we became early morning risers. Here’s our productive week:

THE WEEK OF MARCH 11th, 2019

MONDAY

After a long trip, it was nice to be able to take it easy before getting back into the usual routine. I took advantage of my day off by pouring a big cup of coffee, throwing on my new sweater and cuddling up with my favorites.

Later on, we did a little renovation recon at Second Chance. We were sourcing even more wood – Decisions, decisions.

We spotted a few more fun finds that we clearly have no room or use for.

Before heading home, we stopped over at Brick & Board – a very cool space near our house that also specializes in reclaimed materials. Both of us were very excited about these old Maple gym floors.

If you are interested in looking at reclaimed building materials in Baltimore, I would definitely recommend stopping by!

It’s also right down the street from Beyond Video – a non-profit video store that for some reason I haven’t been to yet.

TUESDAY

Back to work! Even Bean wanted to stay home.

I wasn’t ready to get back into full renovation mode. I tried to savor post-work couch lounging for as long as I could before I was elbow deep in a paint can once again.

Our reward for hard work is now exclusively celebrated at Taco Tuesdays.

WEDNESDAY

The best thing about coming back from our trip during Daylight Savings was that I was actually waking up super early. I can’t remember the last time I watched the sunrise while taking the dog for a walk.

I was so happy to be with my little nugget once again.

After work, Jason and I started laying some of the floor planks in the guest bedroom. We decided on a slightly different top coat technique so hopefully this project goes smoothly!

We couldn’t resist indulging for dinner once again.

Finally, time to relax. Here I am enjoying my last moments with winter socks.

THURSDAY

Another early morning means another chance for good coffee. Thank you, Charmingtons!

And it was another lovely day outside! It’s always so invigorating when Spring starts to roll in.

Windows down!

Back at home in the guest bedroom, I was contemplating changing the main light fixture. I picked up this big boy from Second Chance a while back but I wasn’t sure if I should save it for the laundry room or not.

The current light is very minimal but works nicely in the small space. The vintage light is a much larger flushmount but I like the brass detailing. I’m still not sure that I’m in love with the fact that it’s technically a boob light but something about it still appeals to me. Hmmm…

Jason and I were excited to go to Shocktail Hour at Golden West but once we got there, had a few drinks and ate dinner, we were absolutely wiped! Both of us were more than happy to call it an early night and pass out.

FRIDAY

You guys, these Almond Milk Lattes have been giving my basic ass life recently. Also, I have reached the peak of my sweater game right before they are all going to be put into winter storage.

Later on, we focused on the upstairs. We had made SO much progress but still had a lot of work ahead of us.

In the office, we prepped the floor planks to be cut to length.

In the stairwell, we decided that our previous decision to stain the treads wasn’t sitting right so we prepared everything to paint them before installing the runner.

Meanwhile, we finished up with the planks in the guest room and Ellie was busy being nosy and cute.

While the upstairs progress was slowly taking shape, the downstairs was just amassing random THINGS everywhere.

Ellie eventually got tired of our efforts and retired to her favorite chair.

SATURDAY

Another busy day. We decided that getting an early breakfast at Ground & Griddled might help up get motivated to get in gear.

This photo is clearly what they had in mind when they came up with the heart eyes emoji 😍😍

I must have been super busy because I took approximately zero photos besides this one showing off our very useful under cabinet lights.

SUNDAY

Another early start. I snapped some cute Spring time pics around the neighborhood during the morning dog walk.

The blossoms are guaranteed to get you feeling fresh and excited.

I’m getting used to being in the living room and I love when the sun starts to pour in the front windows.

After some minor house work, I ventured out to Jess’ Bridal Shower! I have never been to a Bridal Shower before but I’m pretty sure Jess is the most gracious and kind and cutest bride out there so… it seems like I went to the best one ever.

By the time I got home, most of the flooring was coming together and the back room was getting a fresh sanding.

And now for one last obligatory shot of Ellie sleeping on the window seat.

What was the highlight of your week?
