I’m behind on these recaps so let’s just get to it.
THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 4th, 2019
MONDAY
Trying to stay warm in the chilly weather with a big bowl of ramen from Mi & Yu.
TUESDAY
The week was a busy one (as is every week leading up to a trip.) I went shopping with Jason after work and later had dinner with the BFFs at Hamilton Tavern.
WEDNESDAY
Spent the day to evening wrapped up in fleece.
THURSDAY
Ellie can always sense my impending departure.
After work, Jason, Allison and I headed up to New York and boarded a plane to Amsterdam!
FRIDAY
Back in one of my favorite cities and just in time for brunch at Ted’s.
After we finished eating and caffeinating, we checked into our super cute Airbnb.
Lovely views.
It gets dark so early this time of year but that made exploring the city all the more dreamy.
We happily decided on Silom Thai Brasserie for dinner.
We ended our night at my favorite bar of the trip – The Flying Dutchman.
SATURDAY
Time to get our breakfast on at De Vier Pilaren.
Afterwards, we explored the city and even some wonderful vintage shops. Penny Lane Vintage was a dream.
Jason even bought a vintage wool blazer and a single tear rolled from my eye.
The Kiloshop de Pijp had some rad offerings.
Eventually we made our way to the Albert Cuyp Market!
There is a lot to take in at the market but Jason and I were happy to grab a few chicken skewers to kick things off.
Allison is more of a french fry gal.
Ready to activate my sweet tooth, we grabbed delicious Turkish coffee and even more delicious warm STROOPWAFLES.
Alison living her best life:
We explored more of the city and took in all of its charms.
One more vintage shop, don’t mind if I do…
Somehow we found ourselves first inside a hidden little speakeasy, Door 64.
It was here we discovered our love for drinks with egg whites and that cocktails with hot dog juice can actually be palatable.
For dinner, we just walked across the street and dined on tasty tapas!
SUNDAY
Marked off at least one hipster coffee of the trip at Sova Coffee Roasters.
The 3 of us spent a lot of time walking Vondlepark, chatting about life.
The moon appeared and we headed further into the city.
We ate some dynamite hot dogs at Bulls & Dogs in Foodhallen.
Then we hopped on a night time canal cruise to see the beautiful city from the water!
Not sure how, but we found ourselves downtown in a fancy hotel bar.
Cheers, Twenty Seven!
Had to balance out the highs with the lows with an obligatory stop at Febo.
Time to stay goodnight!
I have one more day in Amsterdam to recap but that will have to wait until next week 🙂
What was the highlight of your week?
