Amsterdam to Florence and back home – all in one week!

THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 11th, 2019

MONDAY

It was our last day in Amsterdam so we had to get busy! Thank you to Stach for the walking coffee.

We headed to MOAK to get some Instagram-worthy pancakes.

Next up – the Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam (I took far too many pictures here.)

Outside, we were able to explore more of the area including some smaller greenhouses.

The Butterfly Greenhouse was my favorite!

We had a quick lunch Soup en Zo to warm us up.

Then we headed indoors to Micropia – a museum dedicated to microbes!

Before we knew it – we were having out last meal in Amsterdam at Cafe Zouk.

We said our goodbyes and made it to our flight. We arrived in Florence late at night so we did only minor exploring to the first cheap sandwich shop we could find.

TUESDAY

The next morning – we left our friend’s place to check into our gorgeous Airbnb loft.

We slept in late (something that would become the running theme of this trip) but we still needed to grab espresso & treats.

Then we walked around to get a feel for the city, enjoying the decent weather! The Duomo (Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore) exterior was amazing –

We killed more time at another cute cafe.

I loved my view đŸ˜‰

We met up with our buddy Matt and his big group of friends for an Italian Cooking Class! Our chef taught us how to make a killer three course meal.

We walked back to Matt & Company’s grand Airbnb but I had to make a quick stop for my first affagto.

Then we stopped at a nearby bar for a drink – Please don’t tell anyone that I went to a steam punk themed bar.

Eventually, we made it back to Matt’s airbnb where we met new friends, played some games and laughed until our faces hurt.
