(still) THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 11th, 2019

WEDNESDAY

We woke up and went straight to lunch for a big Family Style meal.

We did more exploring around town…

…which included my first of many gelatos.

Finally a walking coffee from Coffee & Kitchen!

In the evening, we headed out to Matt’s birthday dinner at Il Latini.

Jason and I were the first to arrive at the restaurant for dinner and we must have thought we were looking cute.

But that steak, though!

On our way back home, we spotted some pretty Christmas lights throughout the streets.

I think we need help with how to pose for couples pictures.

Goodnight Florence!

THURSDAY

We got off to a rocky start when a few missed connections and a mad dash to the train station ended with us deciding to stay in Florence for the day. So before we even ate breakfast, we found ourselves a short walk from Santa Maria Novella aka The World’s Oldest Pharmacy. You can take a peak around the posh interior and even buy beauty products and other pharmaceuticals. I was just in awe of the design and details.

Finally, we stopped off for a quick morning bite.

We decided to explore the city on foot for a while before meeting up with others later in the day.

For lunch, I had the best sandwich of my life at Osteria All’antico Vinaio. My only regret is not making it out to this place for a second time.

We met up with some friends at Fuk bar – yes, I spelled that right. The menus won me over pretty quick.

We wound up at Trattoria Anita for dinner and the home-style Tuscan cooking did not disappoint.

I could have eaten here every night.

We ended the night back with a big group and off to a night club because when in Florence…

FRIDAY

We started off the rainy day at the very hip Ditta Artigianale.

Then we were finally on our way to the Arno River area of the city.

A quick stop into the Designer Vintage shop Boutique Nadine revealed I could not afford anything inside.

As night approached, the glow of the lights along the river really set the mood.

We met back up with Matt to explore the Museo Galileo.

As we waiting for our restaurant of choice to open we stopped into Gelateria Santa Trinita for a snack and walked around checking out the Christmas lights.

Finally, we made it Trattoria Sabatino and had the best Italian food of our lives.

While searching for a bar, we happened upon the endlessly cool Gosh and I immediately fell in love.

While walking back, we decided to have one more gelato moment courtesy of Gelateria La Carraia.

As the night came to a close, we checked out the rooftop of Matt’s Airbnb for one last look at the beautiful city at night.

SATURDAY

We spent ALL DAMN DAY traveling so our highlights included the following:

Cappuccinos at the Florence airport –

Take home macarons at Ladurée

And this lemon tart from Maison Pradier

So, thank you to the Paris airport, I suppose.

SUNDAY

Pretty sure I got sick thanks to the freezing temperatures on the Amtrak train but I was so happy to cuddle with my girl all day!!!!!!!

What was the highlight of your week?
