Happy Holidays everyone! The end of the year is only a few days away so it looks like this recap will be the last post of 2017!
THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 18th, 2017
MONDAY
Office Holiday Sweets were in full swing this week and I wasn’t about to pass up this cinnamon bun from Wolferman’s.
After work, Jason and I took the night off to see Star Wars The Last Jedi and now I think Jess and I need to record another episode of Sorry in Advance about it.
TUESDAY
In two days, Jason and his aunt were able to completely frame out the new bathroom wall and move the vent duct. I couldn’t believe how quick it went up!
When I got home from work, Jason and I made a few Home Depot/Lowe’s trips and ate dinner at Ledo’s Pizza.
WEDNESDAY
Of course right before my days off of work almost everything went wrong. Namely, this lovely flat tire I had the pleasure of dealing with on my lunch break.
At least the day ended with a nice hot bowl of ramen from Mi & Yu Noodle Bar accompanied by this crappy cell phone pic.
THURSDAY
Jason and I started the day back at Home Depot before beginning our work for the day. We ate hot dogs in our car and felt like true contractors.
We did a few finishing projects including the guest bedroom shelving.
I can’t wait to show off this part of the room once it’s complete!
FRIDAY
My next day off was spent tearing down the existing bathroom wall with Jason and his aunt. Midday I took the dog out for a walk and snapped a few photos around the neighborhood.
At the end of the day the wall was gone!
I cant believe how much bigger the bathroom feels already. Our bathroom was very narrow so we knew we would have to widen the room during renovation. You can see on the floor where the previous space was. Please excuse the mess.
The end of the night was spent with all of the BFFs over at Rob & Jess’ place, eating cookies and catching up.
SATURDAY
Jason and I had to wake up early to pick up a Christmas order so we grabbed some donuts from the new spot in Hampden – Full Circle. Their donuts are dense & flavorful with really unique options.
The Holiday glaze, made with anise, almond and orange was so smooth.
But my favorite shocked me – their Breakfast Sandwich donut (which is filled with a bacon jam) is hands down, the best savory donut I’ve had. I usually wouldn’t opt for a savory donut but I’ve been craving this thing ever since.
SUNDAY
Christmas Eve was spent on home renovations, family and then wrapping presents.
I may have indulged in a little Drunken Rum Cake treat.
I ended the night watching movies and finally trying out some Sprite Cranberry (I’ve had a weird obsession with wanting to try it ever since I heard the commercials for it on the radio with Chance the Rapper.)
Try it for yourself and maybe throw a little gin in while you’re at it!
What was the highlight of your week?
