Weekly Photo Recap: Baltimore Baton

Posted on April 11, 2018 by Lindsay

What a week! Take a peek at how I spent my weekend running around the city.

THE WEEK OF APRIL 2nd, 2018

MONDAY

Jason and I were feeling good after our weekend getaway but routine quickly settled in and it was time to get back to work. Of course we had to get out for dinner – nothing a stiff cocktail can’t fix, right? Off to Parts & Labor.

This bread pudding was completely unnecessary but SO DAMN GOOD.

TUESDAY

Back in the muddy trenches with the dog!

It was still a bit of a mess weather-wise during most of the week. Hopefully, Spring will actually get here soon.

WEDNESDAY

Evening walks around the neighborhood proved that the blooms are determined to come out even in the chilly weather.

All I wanted to do was stay in bed!

THURSDAY

I feel like I’ve been drinking more coffee than usual lately. Thankfully, we have a nice stockpile of beans at home. I was happy to bust out the Trager Brothers Coffee blend we picked up while we were in Virginia.

FRIDAY

We spent Friday walking around in the moderately nice weather (!) and eventually meeting friends for dinner at Paulie Gee’s. I got some cocktail with Mike’s Hot Honey in it and that thing was not messing around.

SATURDAY

We started the day early because I was taking over the Baltimore Baton Instagram all weekend long! I was fortunate to takeover the account around the same time last year and had so much fun. I was more than happy to do it again.

Basically, The Baltimore Baton is “A photo relay between Baltimore locals shedding light on life in Charm City!” Started by Megan from Soup of the Day – the account has totally taken off and become my favorite local Instagram to follow. I felt like I had to go all out during my takeover so I planned a fun weekend itinerary. I took SO MANY PHOTOS so I’ll heavily edit them down for the recap and make separate posts to go out later on the blog.

I spent a good bit of Saturday in Remington and the surrounding neighborhoods.
First up – RHouse for #BrunchHouse – Featuring:

Breakfast tacos from Amano Taco

With coffee from Ground & Griddled and donuts from Donut Stop Believin’

Then it was time for the For The Greater Goods Market! The monthly pop-up market brings together a wonderful collection of talented local vendors and artists and features a variety of charitable causes. (This month was Thread.org – an organization connecting High School students with personal mentors to foster academic advancement and personal growth.)

I picked up several goodies at the market. Here’s a few highlights:

Snagged the first bar of “Haulin’ Oats” from Mount Royal Soap Co.

Brought home tasty treats: THE Scotty Cake from Scotty Cakes and plenty of macarons from Balti’Marons

And some lovely dried flowers from Spore & Seed to go with my snazzy greenery from B.Willow.

After the market, Jason and I made our way to Union Craft Brewing as they were celebrating the Opening Day for Trails in Baltimore!

Also celebrating the Opening Day for Trails was the Rawlings Conservatory. It was my first time visiting and I have to agree with the gentleman at the front desk, I think it might be one of the best kept secrets in Baltimore. I loved checking out the Spring Flower Display and botanical gardens. Here is a few snapshots (although I took about a million) –

We grabbed ice cream from Quinn’s Ice on the way out.

Then it was time to walk this patient pooch.

We had a party to attend later on so we spaced out our evening activities. First, a fireside drink from Parts & Labor.

Then a quick stop at the Remington Neighborhood Lights gathering!

Thanks so much to Charmington’s for the coffee!

And to The Greater Remington Improvement Association and photographer Crystal Dunn for the cute photo!

We ended the night surrounded by our best friends indulging in the best pleasure of all – Marc’s delicious cooking!

Also you DO NOT sleep on Miera’s customary baked good. This damn rum cake was THE BEST and you know how much I like rum cake.

Anyways, what a great day! And the weekend isn’t over yet!

SUNDAY

IT WAS THE FIRST DAY OF THE BALTIMORE FARMERS MARKET & BAZAAR! I’ve raved about the Farmer’s Market before on the blog so here’s just a few of my fav pics from Sunday –

Wool products from Springfield Farms

Shout out to my all time fav Migue’s Minis.

Dooby’s + Sundays Bakehouse

I can’t wait to plant some herb boxes at the house!

Afterwards, we met up with friends for a proper meal at one of my favorite restaurants – Silver Queen Cafe. I have never been there for brunch and I was blown away by how good it was. I’ve been talking about it all week but see for yourself –

If you thought we couldn’t possibly fit more donuts into this post, you thought wrong. Thanks Batch Bake Shop!

Jason and I walked a bit more around the Hamilton area and Lake Montebello

After heading home and spending time walking the dog, we ventured out to the Charles North area to grab dinner.

We ate dinner at one of our favorite spots, Bottega.

It was delicious, as always.

We checked out a few other places in the city and eventually met back up with friends at the Golden West Cafe for their Tarot & Cocktails night!

WOW – That’s it! Finally (this recap took me forever) but what a fun weekend exploring the city. 😀

What was the highlight of your week?
