Things To See & Do in Louisville, KY

Posted on April 27, 2017 by Lindsay

Next up in our travel recaps, I’m breaking down some of the best Things To See & Do in Louisville, KY that doesn’t include eating. Keep reading and take a look at what he did during our trip.

TAKE A STROLL THROUGH THE PARK

Louisville Waterfront Park is a beautiful place with great water views. (The Redbull Flugtag competition was happening at the park while we were visiting!) Also try checking out Cherokee Park for a pleasant hike.

TAKE IN THE CURB APPEAL

It doesn’t really matter where I go, one of my favorite ways to get to know a city is to just walk around. Louisville had a surprising amount of interesting architecture and of course, cool street art.

GET SPOOKY AT CAUFIELD’S

When I read that Caufield’s Novelty was a giant Halloween store that was popular with both locals and tourists I was sold. Anyone else want to run a big ass Halloween store with me? No? Moving on…

TOUR A DISTILLERY

There are so many options for cool distillery tours in the city that it seemed like a must do. We checked out Kentucky Peerless and will have a recap post up later this week (spoiler alert – it was pretty dope.)

BIKE TO INDIANA

If you want to get yourself some tasty ice cream and check out the best views in the city, hope on a bike and head over to The Widow’s Walk Ice Creamery and Bicycle Rentals. It’s just past the bridge at the Waterfront Park, right over the state line. It was maybe a 5-10 minute bike ride has totally worth it for the skyline view.

GET CULTURED AT 21C MUSEUM HOTEL

21c Museum Hotel is half museum, half hotel and 100% amazing. Read more about our experience at 21c in this post here.

CHECK OUT THE SLUGGERVILLE MUSEUM

If you want to knock off the biggest tourist attraction in town, head over to the Sluggerville Museum and see how the famous baseball bats are made. It’s especially cool if you’re a baseball fan but still a neat educational tour.

I have never been to the northern part of Kentucky but I have a friend who is from there and talks about how she wants me to come and visit. I know my hubby would love the Slugger museum.
