We’ve been exploring a lot of Louisville on the blog over the past few weeks and now it’s time to look at some of the best food and drink spots in the city. Here we go!
RISE & SHINE
First thing’s first – where should you get breakfast?
Here are a few great options:
Toast on Market
Our first intro to Louisville cuisine was the delightful breakfast stop Toast on Market. The have plenty of savory options including a hashbrown casserole but you can’t go wrong with the Lemon Soufflé pancakes.
Gralehaus
I can not stress this enough – DO NOT MISS GRALEHAUS. Read more of my thoughts here.
Nord’s Bakery
Donuts of course! You can read all of my thoughts and see all of my pictures of Nord’s Bakery by checking out this post here.
DELICIOUS, FILLING DINNER
I don’t know what to say other than Louisville food is sure to satisfy all of your cravings.
The Silver Dollar
This was my favorite meal I had in Louisville. The location and space were so relaxed but the food surpassed everything. Those ribs tasted as good as they looked.
Impellizzeri’s Pizza
Impellizzeri’s was located right next to our Airbnb so we popped in for a bit to avoid roaming the streets during a thunderstorm. It’s not the greatest pizza on earth but the vibe was chill and it made for the perfect Bardstown hideout to chat with friends.
Mussel & Burger Bar
We went into the burger bar (located right across from the 21c Museum Hotel) on a whim and ended up being blown away by the burgers. Rob said it might be the greatest burger he’s ever had!
GET YOUR DRINK ON
I love Louisville bars. There are so many amazing outdoor bar options and of course, lots of bourbon.
Holy Grale
This bar, located in a former church, offers a quiet retreat separate from the busy Bardstown bar scene. Holy Grale is a beer bar so don’t expect an onslaught of whisky options and instead prepare yourself for an overwhelming beer selection. We didn’t have time to eat here but I’ve heard the food is also pretty heavenly (pun intended) 😉
Garage Bar
This is the perfect bar to visit with friends on a warm summer night. The former gas station offers tons of outdoor seating options as well as a few fun game tables to keep your group occupied.
Rye
Ready to try out some whisky and bourbon? Check out the sleek chill spot – Rye. This is definitely the best way to unwind after a long day.
