My favorite day in Amsterdam also happened to be the day spent eating the most food. Coincidence? You be the judge.

We opted for a light breakfast in our adorable nook before heading out for the day. I was never that into yogurt but I ate a lot of it over in Europe and have since become quite fond of it. Still have not found any comparable croissants thought.

It was a lovely day and we decided to go check out the hustle and bustle of the market in Amsterdam, but not before admiring some views first.

Once of the biggest tourist draws comes to Albert Cuyp Market, a main hub for small shops of all varieties. It’s easy to spot the market’s wide array of beautiful flowers.

This place was packed but totally worth the visit. They had just about everything you could think of from food to clothes to bikes and a whole lot more. We strategized our food consumption by first surveying all of our options and then doubling back. Take a look at some of these pics from the market and later on, what we decided to eat.

Right away we knew we needed meat and we were quite taken with these beautiful golden hens glowing above the Benny’s Chicken cart.

Oh yes, this will do.

We share a few kabobs that were really good stuff. I think we both wanted more but knew we still had a few spots left on our list.

Yes, next we needed waffles – of all varieties. First waffle came from Wally’s Wafels and it was covered in milk chocolate. I’ll let the photo speak for itself.

But not far up the way, I was much more concerned about eating something else.

I watched as an ordinary man took on the extraordinary task of crafting my Stroopwafel. Here in the market, this stand makes the tasty treat right in front of your eyes and serves it up warm.

We were starting to get a little full so we walked around a bit more before heading out. We wanted to get some of these french fries everyone was walking around with because why not.

They tasted like french fries so if that’s your thing, go for it. Otherwise, meh?

Anyways, onward and upwards we were off to check out the park. We spotted some pretty sights along the way.

The entrance to the park that we went through featured a few gorgeous buildings and envy-inducing properties.

Someone was getting married and there was unattended champagne just lounging about. One pedestrian leaving the park said “You get free drinks when you leave the park too?? Amsterdam is the best!”

Into Vondelpark we go. The park was very big, beautiful and green. It was thriving and full of activity but it wasn’t hard to find quiet secluded spots to take a rest or a few photos 🙂

We spent a ton of time exploring the park and didn’t realized how hungry we were until it hit us hard. Luckily there are a few restaurants located in the perimeter of the park.

We cuddled up outside De Vondeltuin and both dined on ravioli.

It started to get dark after dinner so we walked back into the city center and just checked out a few bars in the area. I got coffee 😐

And then some more!

We hung out at this corner bar for a good while and mulled over how we were going to end out evening. It had been a busy day but by most accounts it was still early so we weren’t sure what else we should try to fit in. I know you’re thinking to yourself, whatever we did next could not possibly involve food. But you are so wrong my friend.

We just had to try some FEBO.

FEBO is fast fried food served out of a vending machine. An idea so genius I don’t understand why college campuses everywhere don’t have one of these already.

What can I say? I’ve never pretended to be a high class traveler.

We were done after that. I had to move up a few belt loops and do my best to breathe properly on the walk home. A day well spent.
