The trip that made me fall in love with car travel was our Road Trip to Boston last year. Despite driving in a torrential downpour and staying in a “smoking” room at a cheap motel, the whole experience was a blast. I didn’t snap a lot of photos from our time in Boston but here were a few highlights.
We started our first day in the city at Mike’s City Diner. This is a small breakfast spot that was busy all morning but it’s easy to see why. It’s emphasis is on making good food and feeding the hungry of all shapes and sizes. It seemed like the spot to go after a night out late. They also had awesome corn beef hash.
We spent a nice chunk of the morning and early afternoon strolling around Boston Commons. The pahk is beautiful and we were lucky enough to get there on a beautiful day. There were people everywhere doing all sorts of activities and it gave the city a wonderful vibe. Boston in general was an intensely clean city (at least in the city center) and it was also pricier than I anticipated.
Bukowski’s Tavern was a neat bar spot where we ate some tator tot “poutine.” I was into that menu. We also had a few cheap drinks at The Pour House.
Okay also I am a nerd. One of my all time favorite films is David Fincher’s The Social Network. (Seriously) so I had to stop by and snag a pic at Thirsty Scholar.
