In today’s episode of the Weekly Photo Recap we look at some big house updates and small moments.

MONDAY

We had an extra day to work on the house thanks to Labor Day. We finally finished framing out the ceiling downstairs and I was able to finish up most of of the miscellaneous painting in the bathroom! I think the only task left now is the closet door installation. Why not show off some of our hard work? –

I love how the tiles, vanity and new walls work together in the space.

And I’m more than a little obsessed with this vintage Swedish rug I picked up on Etsy.

Our vanity light was a custom made piece that we also picked up on Etsy. After a lot of thought and planning, we decided to do mixed metals in the bathroom and I think we are both very happy with the final result. We still need to change some handle hardware here and there but I’m already sold on the combinations.

The vanity now fits perfectly in the space and I’m still digging the black brick wall.
And apologies for the grainy photos (why am I never using my actual camera??)

Of course, I’ll do a more thorough Before & After room tour somewhere down the line. Until then, let me know what you think about the space!

TUESDAY

After work, I took the dog over to my parents house so she could get a good swim in before giving her a bath.

She was pretty happy about it.

WEDNESDAY

I spent the small amount of time I had after work sanding the stairwell planks while Jason worked downstairs. It is hard to tell what’s going on in these photos but the boards are starting to look nice and smooth. I just need to finish sanding the back wall and then we will be ready to prime, caulk and paint!

THURSDAY

I ordered some new coffee samples from Bones Coffee for the upcoming road trip. I love their package design and I’m looking forward to trying out their different roasts!

FRIDAY

I still hadn’t changed my work calendar yet. [Insert obligatory “I can’t believe it’s September already!” exclamation.]

By the way, this mug constantly taunts me.

SATURDAY

This was a BIG weekend for renovation work at the house. Our goal was to get up the ceiling drywall downstairs so that it could be mudded and finished while we were away on vacation. Together with a drywall rig and Jason’s aunt we were able to finish up the first room on Saturday!

SUNDAY

The next day we were able to put the rest of the ceiling up (except for the kitchen where we still have more work to do.)

We are SO HAPPY with everything we were able to accomplish and how the project turned out! Now we are looking forward to taking a break and coming back to the renovation with fresh eyes.
