I am slowly getting around to catching up on these recaps! Here’s how I welcomed February:
THE WEEK OF JANUARY 28th, 2018
MONDAY
I’m basically in a constant state of pure exhaustion so I made it a point to get more sleep throughout the week. Ellie likes my new luxurious robe.
TUESDAY
I scored a few textile wins while thrifiting including a pretty accent rug and colorful Southwestern style blanket.
Jason and I panicked and decided to have a last minute dinner at 29th Street Tavern.
WEDNESDAY
My hair is starting to grow out which means I’m constantly confused as to what I should do with it. I’m currently trying out the deep side part.
Takeout for dinner because we have been so busy and are too lazy to cook and who cares about prioritizing health anyways?
THURSDAY
Worked / cleaned / headed out to podcast. Jess picked me up this card because she is my one genuine love that truly understands me as a human.
FRIDAY
It snowed, kind of – just enough to be a nuisance to me but the most fun in the world for Ellie.
SATURDAY
SO, Jason and I were hoping to finish our downstairs flooring by the end of the weekend. We took before shots of all the craziness and spent the day prepping the areas. Spoiler alert: our plan did not go as expected.
Later in the evening, we ventured out to see our friend Shawn’s band play a show! They were amazing and we stayed all night, drinking and dancing. Special thanks to this ridiculously cute duo for the invite 🙂
SUNDAY
Sunday was not a great day for our home renovation. We had every intention of laying the floor down – we prepped all the surfaces and did a final cleaning. Then, we started to sort the boards to come up with a pattern. It took us MUCH LONGER than expected to come to the point where we were even ready to lay just the HALLWAY. Eventually, it became too late in the day to get started so we shelved the process and decided to focus on trim work for the remaining hours of the day. This was a huge blow to our confidence and schedule but there really wasn’t anything else we could do but keep going. In these final renovation stages, we have felt the huge pressure of time as we are welcoming guests in April. I am trying to stay positive and keep up our momentum so that we can get to a place we where we feel good about our house before visitors arrive.
Late at night, I pulled some boxes out of the basement and threw some stuff on our new kitchen shelf. I am looking forward to the day I get to finish the organizing process.
What was the highlight of your week?
