It’s hard to believe that another week has passed, let alone the fact that we are almost about to begin a new month. Let’s take a quick look back at last week before moving forward.
THE WEEK OF JUNE 19th, 2017
MONDAY
I was operating at my highest frequency at the beginning of the week trying to book some international flights for the end of the year. We ended up not booking this Monday which kept my anxiety levels elevated til the next evening.
I did break in a new notebook with an old pen.
TUESDAY
Finally! We bought our flights to Europe! Booking this trip took us way longer than we would have liked but I totally did a little happy dance after I got that email confirmation. Still more to do (as always) but getting the big stuff out of the way felt like I was removing a giant weight off my back.
WEDNESDAY
After work Jason and I toured a few neighborhoods for potential houses before ending up at Clementine for dinner and tasty drinks.
THURSDAY
I forgot to bring my lunch into work so of course I used that as an excuse to order sushi.
FRIDAY
This weekend turned out to be one of the most low key weekends I’ve had in a while. I took time after work to de-stress and catch up on laundry while Jason was out. We decided spur of the moment to order some steamed crabs which turned out to be a great decision. We spent the evening picking delicious meat and watching Glow on Netflix. (Mini review: it’s super fun!)
SATURDAY
All week I was anticipating checking out this Donut Alliance pop up shop. Jason and I tried to get down to the shop early but came in about 15 minutes after the pop up was scheduled and IT WAS ALREADY SOLD OUT!! I’m not sure if the shop had a super limited supply or if people just snatched everything up right when they opened but needless to say – I was a little disappointed. I guess that’ll teach me to be late!
Anyways, we left the store donut-less and headed to the nearby R House to get some good coffee and breakfast at Ground & Griddled.
The nitro cold brew, honey maple bar and breakfast sandwich were all on point.
After I chatted with Jason at length about a particularly salacious 48 Hours case, we walked a bit more around the Remington area to scope things out.
After a brief interlude to walk the dog, Jason and I headed back out with our realtor to check out houses. Later on we grabbed some lunch at the locally “famous” Chaps Pit Beef. The pit beef is seriously good though. Side note: If you are showcased on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is it mandatory to have a gigantic picture of Guy Fieri displayed somewhere in your restaurant? Hardly seems worth it.
The night ended in Federal Hill with friends, once again checking out Jason’s favorite spot Crossbar and then my favorite – The Metropolitan.
SUNDAY
A busy day per usual. Kicked it off with the last Angel’s Cup coffee sample!
Here’s a rare selfie that accurately depicts my unkempt hair and attire of a typical Sunday.
The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping, meal prepping, doing chores and attempting to catch up on some TV shows.
What was the highlight of your week?

Pretty boring week (mine I mean – yours looked fun). I went to an active shooter seminar with some friends from work so that was probably the most interesting thing. Watching GLOW and Nobody Speak over the weekend was pretty great.
That seminar sounds…intense.
Glow is pretty fun so far! I had to google Nobody Speak real quick but saw the short headlines and I’m IN. I didn’t even see that on Netflix!!
I’m looking forward to seeing you and Suzie again soon! ARE YOU READY?!?!
It was pretty intense! Did you ever watch Nobody Speak? We’re getting stoked for the trip! I need to renew my passport!!! 🙁
No, not yet but I threw it on the list. You better get your passport up to date ASAP !
