Life is a series of progress and set backs. Here’s a look at mine from last week.
THE WEEK OF AUGUST 21, 2017
MONDAY
I was able to celebrate the 2017 Eclipse with a morning donut treat and afternoon espresso thanks to the lovely people at my office.
I’m definitely considering buying a Nespresso now.
After work, we headed to our new place to take care of some miscellaneous tasks and cleaning. Ellie agrees that the brick is looking great!
It took a lot less time than I expected to get rid of all of the popcorn ceiling in the front room. It was nice to get something small like that checked off the list.
TUESDAY
Ellie wasn’t feeling too well so Jason dropped her off at work with me for the day. She seemed to perk right up once she got to the office and eventually crashed after lunch.
We trekked all the way out to Westminster to look at a car but didn’t have any luck. I did enjoy a tasty burger at a local pub though.
WEDNESDAY
Before we continued our trend of home renovation evenings, I started the day off with new coffee Rob and Jess picked up for us from Rise Up.
Later, I snapped pictures from the car at a few increasingly routine sights.
THURSDAY
The end of the week started to blend into a blur and my lack of quality photos can certainly attest to that. We ended up eating at R House and tried the vegan spot Stall 11 for the first time. I wasn’t a huge fan but I’d like to go back and check out some of their vegan baked goods.
FRIDAY
More chores and reno work, including Jason’s prep work for a new window install. Later, we had dinner with Rob & Jess and talked about Twin Peaks theories til we were blue in the face.
SATURDAY
The day was a bit fragmented as Jason and his dad worked on putting in the new window while I finished cleaning and moving stuff from our old place.
I wish this storage bench was all we had to move ๐
Also, this dirty old wallpaper is growing on me, can’t we just keep it?
SUNDAY
Sunday was a loooong day and one of the first where I was truly worried about our timeline. Our move in date is next weekend and our major concern is still plaster debris. I got to work on removing some of the falling plaster out of the old lath.
Jason and his dad finished installing a brand new window and door – both of which look great!
Jason requested we get chicken sandwiches from BRD for lunch, which was the best and worst idea all rolled into one.
As night fell and I continued to clean plaster from every surface of the house for the 100th time, I tried to take a snapshot of the crescent moon from my new bedroom window. I failed but kind of like how the photo turned out nonetheless.
What was the highlight of your week?

Is it weird to say that last night’s episode of Twin Peaks was the highlight of my week? I am so sad there are only two left! I guess the eclipse was pretty cool too ๐ Good luck with all the reno work, you guys seems to be making great progress!
Soooo not weird, I am basically obsessed! I want to to go on forever!!
& Thank You! We need all the motivation we can get!
